He and Littleton are really similar "play style" ... good coverage (Howard was a safety in college) skills and can lay the wood for a smaller fella.
Kenny Young and Kiser I believe are going to fight for the other spot.
This is a guess and it is based on the old defense ... but I think they had a plan with Howard that was similar to Littleton when they drafted him. STs then work him into the rotation and see what he's got.
As a defensive team we've been blurring the lines of the back 6 now for a couple years. Now we really only have one true lockdown guy at CB and then quasi slot CBs and safeties that are either slots or borderline LBs ... most versatile players stay on the field.
