And I thought it would be an OC.
But hey passed on Cushenberry and Hennessy in the 2nd
I still wonder if Cushenberry wasnt taken the pick before the Rams pick at 84, if the Rams pass on Lewis and go Cushenberry. Wasnt that the pick where McVay looked pissed and they said it was because he wanted to talk to Lewis first, and they couldn't get ahold of him? I think it was because they thought Cush would fall right into them TBH. I'll never know the truth.
That I think was the sweet spot for them. An OC in the 3rd. At least thats what I mocked.
They traded down in the 4th and still had Hopkins on the board, if he is gone, do they take Biadasz? Maybe, but, I'd guess not.
I wasn't as high on Wanogho as others were. And the same with Cleveland. They were both raw and needed to add power. Neither of these guys were gonna trade power with a strong rusher. So they don't help this year. So you draft them for 21 or 22. The Vikes run the same OZS as the Rams do and they are thinking Cleveland starts inside for at least a year.
That said, I take Wanogho in the 6th over a 5th (or 4th S if you move Burgess to nickel) S with limited upside. Swing for the fences with Wanogho. But I will say this, if anyone knows about Auburn players its Mr. AU Alum himself, Les Snead. So maybe he knows whats up with him.
I've said all along, I thought they would go into the season with Corbett and Noteboom competing at LG. I think its Edwards at RG (maybe Blythe if he can't beat out Allen at OC)
I thought they would seriously look at Harris earlier then anyone expected. Thankfully they didn't. I think they missed on Cushenberry in the 3rd, and that was all they were interested in.
The draft could have looked like this:
Akers
Jefferson
Cushenberry
Burgess
Alton Robinson/ Curtis Weaver, Bradley Anae
blah
blah
blah
blah
Is that any better? Im not sure, because I love Lewis' upside and none of those edge can get close to Lewis' athleticism. And I think Hopkins was the top TE in the draft, so theres that.
