They brought in Lovie Smith and were attempting to replicate Tampa 2 personnel. Thought they could just draft a DT from Miami (Damien Lewis) to be Sapp and a LB from FSU (Tommy Polley) for the Brooks role. And Archuletta was to be the new Lynch.
