Higgins has an inch plus per side in wingspan but Pittman has a 5+in vertical advantage. Given Higgins had Lawrence throwing him the ball and Pittman had....in my mind its a wash--they are both excellent jump ball types.
Maybe Pittman isnt the deep threat and that becomes Everett, but Pittman could be deadly on the out/post combo that Cooks ran. Pittman will be able to just block-out Cbs on posts, and be unmatched physically on the posts.
I'm concerned about Higgins ability to separate. Actually, I clearly have Pittman as the better player now. Still, I'd rather have a pure speed guy but we can score alot of points with either.
Hey, I just finished piecing together a combine dataset of 5300 players covering 2000-2020. If you are interested in it let me know and I can get it out to you.
IMO, it's about way more than just their physical traits of wingspan and jumping ability. Higgins has super-elite ball-skills and body control. And in college, he demonstrated the ability to come down with 50/50 balls seemingly 80% of the time. I'll take the guy who's demonstrated that over the guy who we're projecting can do it.
And absolutely I'd like to see the combine dataset.
