First, are they targeting a WR to replace Cooks early, or do they want an edge or RB or IOL or ILBer first.
Second, who is on their big board? I'd assume: Juedy, Lamb, Ruggs, Higgins, Reagor, Mims, Hamler and Aiyuk in some order.
Third, who is left off their big board once the 2nd round starts rolling and how fast do the others start dropping.
Fourth, how far and how much are the Rams willing to go to get the guy they want?
Personally, knowing what the Rams have and what they might be looking for, I am only probably trading up for Aiyuk. I'm assuming Lamb, Ruggs, Juedy, Shenault, Jefferson and probably Mims are gone. Thats 6, maybe a 7th in there.
I think Aiyuk, Higgins and Hamler are all in that 33 to 48 range. So yeah, if you want one, go get one. Hamler is a slot, there is just no way he can play outside. So I'd eliminate him. Making Higgins and Aiyuk and maybe Reagor the 3 guys I would seriously trade up for.
Last year Seattle traded 37th overall to Carolina for 47th and 77th overall. So a 10 slot move at the top of the 2nd cost Carolina their 3rd. I can see that being the case.
That said, regardless of how deep this WR class is, there are no Aiyuks or Higgins or Mims or Reagors in the 3rd round.
Hows that for a non answer answer. I'd actually sit tight and see how close a WR I like gets or if they go, does it push a RB or Edge or OL I like down.
I love the thought of a draft with Aiyuk, Dobbins, Greenard, then OL like Bredeson or Biadasz or both, then filler.
