Everybody who was watching carefully both knew that TG and BC both had expiration dates of 2021 at the latest due to the ability to more easily discharge their salaries.
Rams chose to do it now (a) because Gurley is a shell of himself and (b) cooks is the Chris "Concussion" Miller version of WRs. Speed was talking about him leaving football last year for his own health (would have been smart btw) and now we are bemoaning the cut.
I do agree with Speed that we have to find a functional replacement for the Cooks deep threat and I trust with the extra draft capital we will be able to do just that.
Additionally, I think the cap room we have next year allows to lock down JJ, JR, CK.
