I'm not upset by any means, but mostly because this off-season pretty much just puts me in a "wait and see" mood. And it's not an impatient wait n see thing, it's more just cautiously optimistic and curious. I think overall I have enough faith in this regime that one year bumps and bruises don't have any effect on my longterm view, which is that these guys are and will stay winners. I can handle a regime where 9-7 is a low point.
What I know they have is an unusually strong secondary (deepest since I first started following them), plus Donald, plus Goff (who I still unwaveringly believe in), plus the receivers. Plus all of a sudden out of nowhere Higbee is the best TE the Rams have had the entire time I have been a fan.
They have question marks--but not always big ones--at LB, DL, on the OL, and at RB.
I'm glad the Gurley issue is over. I liked him and I thought he could be productive even with the knee issues but a fresh start there doesn't bother me. I don't know how Staley will work out.
Losing some of the players they did is, to me, par for the course--a team that drafts well will always be in a position where guys have to walk.
Maybe they changed enough so that this is a 2 year process to get back. I don't know. I am content to just wait and find out.
Assuming there is a season in 2020.
