A lot of these guys aren’t lacking for ego. They want the highest percentage to use their savvy to pick the best player. But most miss because they don’t know enough about football AND character. And that is character on and off the field. On the field refers to playing till empty. But that is something hard to measure.
Due to that difficulty [since there’s no metric that I know of) it’s easier to get that part of character from drafting lower where it leaves low draft picks having to fight harder to make it.
The first two rounds really are for finding athletic freaks who have most of their heads on their shoulders.
