Ramsey knows it as well

February 29, 2020 12:01PM
It did not sound from the Snead quote on the Ramsey negotiations like they are currently negotiating or expect to soon. With the 5th year option picked up Ramsey is under contract through 2020 season so it clearly benefits him and his agent to wait. It seems there will be a larger cap next offseason. Jalen's long term contract goes up if he waits.

I am glad they got Higbee extended. I wonder if anyone else would re-sign early. Somehow I could see Kupp valuing the fit with McVay as his priority. But I don't know the Rams thoughts on three large contracts at the WR position.

Players whose contracts will expire after the 2020 season:
CB Jalen Ramsey
CB Nickell Robey-Coleman
OLB Clay Matthews
CB Troy Hill
TE Gerald Everett
WR Cooper Kupp
S John Johnson
WR Josh Reynolds
OLB Samson Ebukam

Negotiations are ongoing, but the NFL and NFLPA are projecting a salary cap of roughly $200 million per club for 2020. If new CBA is ratified, revenue would increase from expanded playoffs, which could cause the cap to rise somewhat. Bigger jumps expected in 2021 and beyond.
