A OL with 31 1/2" arms is going to have an easier time then a guy with 34 1/2" inches. Its little stuff like that, that make the bench and other things at the combine trivial IMO.
You want to know if he takes his craft seriously? Have a scout ask his college's s&c coach how dedicated he was. Then have him ask his position coach and then after that go ask his HC. And if you want to get serious, ask his HS coach.
Don't get me wrong, I love DV. But there are better ways to tell if a kid is dedicated then by the number of reps he can put up.
Example: Tom Brady at combine (his body was...not great) I think he ended up being pretty dedicated.
