I think he's still a productive back. I assume he has an arthritic knee. (I also think that theory explains more things than any other. It adds up.)
He's not the same back but backs have been productive before on arthritic knees. Heck Faulk was productive his final year with the Rams and at that point his knee was far worse than TG's is now. TG has already showed both that he's not his old self AND that he can still be productive, especially in the redzone, where he is both instinctive and fierce.
It won't be the old Gurley but he can still produce.
Making the best out of what they have, I assume they just keep rolling with him. Which IMO makes the most sense. Is the OL an issue in the running game too? Probably--certainly looks that way. Can the OL improve? Sure, if they play their cards right. Will that mean we see the old Gurley? No--but as I said he can still be productive and an improved OL could only help with that.
Make the most out of what they can with him in 2020. Then, 2021 is a different issue.
