both offenses are based on the run game and use passing games based on play action
they are identical in that regard ...
This was Jimmy G’s first year completing 16 games at the Niners QB. He threw for 4k yards 27td and completed 70% of his passes.
One of the biggest difference between the Niners and Rams this year is the Rams run game fell off a cliff. the Niners run game was obviously much better. Also the Rams have 3 dynamic WRs the 49ers don’t have the Rams WRs ... but they have a premier TE and an emerging WR. They each use their WRs in the run game
The biggest difference in the teams schemes is the Niners volume of run plays is significantly more varied than what the Rams have run under McVay (that is likely to change) and the Niners use more power (TEs and F
to run than the Rams (again that appears to be changing). The 49ers run a lot more 12 personnel and run and throw out of its. Again something the Rams started to do late this year.
The schemes are very similar - and of course they are. They both coached under Gruden and Shanny’s dad at the same time in Washington
