Yeah good point. He really seemed to get thrown by his injury this season, but before the injury he was playing really good ball on the strong side for us. I actually think he is a guy they could bring back (reasonable chance that he could earn his contract) if it wasn't for his age and the new DC who is going to want to upgrade the LBs.
Reason Fowler will get paid is age. The dude is very young and has seen some big games and has demonstrated what he can do in a 3-4 defense that suits him. I mean look at what a 4-3 defense did to Clowney this year, granted he had an injury after that August trade but his film is not going to help him lock up a big paycheck IMO. Strangely enough in what should be a very, very good edge FA group our guy might be one of the most highly paid so I think Dante will deliver us that round 3 pick in 2021.
