Saffold is an exceptional run blocker. But his pass blocking is below average. If you are a good team and have a franchise Qb, top WR, top CB, top passrusher or two, good LT, etc you can not afford to pay a 31 year old left guard who struggles pass blocking over 10 millions dollars.
That's a great point because there was an article early in the season how Saffold was struggling, however, I believe he was a leader as well, however, they felt good about Noteboom, but like Saffold being more of a Guard then a Tackle, I believe Noteboom is more of a Tackle then Guard and hopefully will recover quickly and be ready for LT in 2020.
