I fact I think that statement IS overstated. How was he over his head in 2019 but not in 2018?
The main differences between 2018 and 2019 was OL issues starting in game one, and TG issues starting in game one.
In games where the OL was not overwhelmed by defenses that could apply heavy pressure, the Rams offense did quite well, even with a Gurley who (while still productive) was not his old self.
That includes the Saints game, plus Tampa Atlanta Cinn. both ARZ games and both Seattle games, plus interestingly the 2nd SF game. Avg. points per game in those games:
33.875. If they scored at that level across 16 games Rams would be ranked 1st in the league.
If Waldron were as inept as you seem to be saying he was, then it was negligent of McV not to replace him. But. He's still on the staff.
