2015 Raiders: 22nd
2016 Raiders: 20th
2017 Raiders: 20th

Notes...

* His first season as DC was his most impressive, as the previous season's team (run by Siefert) had a terrible defense. But that was also John Fox's first year as head coach so obviously it's better to say he was part of a great turnaround that got him a top job in Jacksonville the next season.

* His first season as Jaguars Head Coach marked a dip in points allowed from the previous regime (Coughlin) dropping from 9th to 18th in points allowed.

* The season after he left the Broncos they jumped to 4th under Wade Phillips.

My take on Jack Del Rio is he's a very average defensive mind and gameplanner. He's done some good things, but this overall response I'm seeing that he's some kind of key hire for Washington is kind of funny. Now he'll be under another defensive mind which means maybe they get the defense right in Washington. I don't hate the guy or anything, he's just not a special add for a staff.
