Both NRC and Hill have the same cap ramifications if cut this offseason as either one would save about $4M in cap space. Either one being cut would obviously create a void in our secondary either on the outside or in slot/nickel coverage. In some ways, I think this decision has more to do with David Long Jr than anyone else. If the team feels as if Long has made enough strides this year after a very slow start, then it would be plausible to see one of these two get released. If we keep both, then Long hasn’t turned a corner (no pun intended) in their minds.
