You mean the player who was hurt and went through a slump this year, didn't peform at the same level he did the previous 4 consecutive years? I wonder if that has ever happened to any other player in league history? If it did I bet some fans turned on them whether it made sense or not.
And his contract is avg. annual amount of 16 M. You don't do contracts by looking at them each year. You measure and compare them on the basis of the annual average.
