I don't doubt that players have always loved money But I certainly doubt that players love the GAME as much as the 1970s. These days, tackling is worse than ever........Players are much more prone to take plays, even GAMES off.....Think you'd ever see a modern day DE play in the Pro Bowl with a broken leg?
I'm not saying EVERY player these days is lame but the number is a LOT higher than 35-40 years ago.
