My list of 10 things to look forward to in 2020

December 22, 2019 02:42PM
Time to put 2019 behind us and look ahead......some of the things I think we have to look forward to in 2020

1. More experienced Oline, they went from horrible to not so bad by the end of the year with some very young and raw replacements. The arrow is pointing up for sure. Just need to get some nastiness somewhere down the line in the run blocking and hopefully a full year together will go a long way in that. Also would hope to get a free agent to help solidify it

2. Some pretty good young players in the secondary- with JJ coming back.... we should have a very solid secondary heading into 2020

3. The Rams finally found a TE..... Higbeast has been one of the best TE's in the NFL over the last four games and McVay seems to have a whole new page to the playbook. I could see Higbeast being a top 5 TE if he stays healthy.

4. Goff will be more experienced and well rested not having an extra month of playoffs games of taking hits...like McVay, he is a smart kid who will learn a lot from this seasons lessons... the extra rest will be a good thing physically for everyone...although it's not what any of them wanted. He's also shown that he is pretty good on roll outs left or right and it also adds another dimension to the playbook that I'm sure McVay will maximize

5. A relatively healthy team heading into training camp. We should be full strength heading into June.

6. Taking the bubble wrap off of Gurley.... I think McVay finally realizes that Gurley can handle a full workload. He should also be healed up and ready for 2020 after such a limited work load in 2019

7. McVay is a smart guy and he will learn a lot from the lessons of 2019

8. 3rd place schedule combined with easier AFC and NFC conference schedule, AFC Least and NFC Least

9. New stadium- don't know what it does for the team, but I know I can't wait!!!

10. New uniforms- don't know what it will do for the team, but I'm excited to go back to the blue and yellow. Just hope the don't mess with the horns!!! Although if it were up to me I'd just go back the the 1999 unis and call it a day.

I'm sure there is plenty more..I'm looking forward to finishing 9-7 for our third consecutive winning season and coming back hungry in 2020!!!

These are just some of the things that come to mind off the top of my head to look forward to ....what are yours?
