When the players don't show up, it's a discipline issue which reflects on the head coach.
My guess is this millennial approach of McVays, where everyone is special, gets a participation trophy and we all say nice things about each other - is getting tired. The players are uncdisciplined.
McVay needs to have a hard camp next year like Vermeil and break these guys down and fire some players who aren't willing to put in the hard work. McVay has been spoon fed every player you could imagine by the ownership to assemble a product that sells seats in the new stadium. We have sold the farm to get him all the pieces he needs. (And it may turn out we don't have all the right pieces). Other coaches have done more with less.
Either way, this attitude that allows him to hold out the whole team during pre-season must change. This team has took on the persona of it's coach - soft and entitled... aka, a mellenial.
