Nice Max and I do recall that song amazing...Always was mad the Rams traded Ron Jaworski and watching that movie even upset me more (#16) although I loved the movie as every Ram fan did.
TheRams had 4 starting QB Calibur QBs within a span of about 2 -3 yrs .
Hadl , Jaworski , Haden , Shack Harris , and soon afterwards Ferragamo.
It's lost on many that Haden was really above Vinny on the depth chart for most of his career until he was down to injury.
Vince and Billy Waddy as I recall beat the Cowboys in the playoffs and that sealed it.
The couldn't play Haden realistically afterwards.
Never understood the love affair the coaches seemed to have with Haden. I know he was smart but he was just so limited in stature and physicality. It would be one thing if he was just really cerebral and judicious with the ball while not being productive but he wasn't.
Compounding his issues was back in those days, many teams were passing in very predictable situations. The Rams probably moreso. They would run until they "had" to pass. 3rd and long type stuff where Haden just wasn't suited to completing long passes. Maybe in a different time and place he could have been a facilitator like Chad Pennington or something but the NFL just didn't function that way back then.
In retrospect, it seems like he got the job with the Rams because he was a local boy that played for USC and the Rams just didn't value the QB position.
I guess there weren't too many QB's that the Rams passed or missed on in the draft during those years but as much as I love Vince, they could have had Tommy Kramer in that same draft.
