Very nice post, dz, and I find myself largely in agreement.
I’m slightly more pessimistic about keeping Weddle than you, but it’s only slightly. Certainly not a table pounding difference.
I’m convinced that Whit is done at LOT. We’ve simply gotta move on there. The decision then becomes whether Boom will be healthy in time AND can play at a high level there. I’m of the opinion that Boom is our guy there for a decade, but the Ram staff have lots of time to eval his recovery before FA/draft time forces their hand.
I could go either way on GZ, frankly. Literally a coin flip for me. His results are no longer league leading nor other worldly. Fassel can find another kicker to develop if they decide to let GZ walk.
I’m not even lukewarm over signing Scherff, tbh. Not that he isn’t a terrific player, but because of the cost. Besides, I like what I’m seeing from Edwards and Evans at this stage of their careers. They are both being force fed a season sooner than planned because of injuries. Let’s see how they do in these final 5 games, but I’m optimistic at this point.
Again, we share the same take on the other 95% of your post.
