Rampage2K-
We are on pace to have like 1000 more flags this year than less than 10 years ago....it's getting to be completely out of control.
Raiders just got called for roughing the passer on a sack in the red zone that just gave the Jets a free TD. I'd like to say it was the worst call I've seen this year, but it is just one of many horrific calls we've seen this year. Unbelievable
If one looks at the NFL through the lens of "sports entertainment", a la WWE, then is softens the blow.
Within the last few years I have finally gotten it through my skull that that is what the league is and it has put things into perspective. I didn't want to believe it, didn't think it was even feasible, but if you actually look at the games the way you'd look at WWE(of which I'm not a fan, nor do I watch), you'll see the similarities. Sort of crystallizes why it's such a waste of energy to get worked up about the calls/non-calls.
The ref's get conveniently distracted, count to 3 just a little more slowly, wait that extra beat(or two, or three) to make that final count, etc. NFL refs do just the same. It is "entertainment", not "sport".
Once I start looking at football like the WWE, I'll stop watching.....
The league has simply gone overboard with the flags these days....they are on pace to throw the flag almost 1000 times more than they did in 2010. That is crazy!!
There are some simple fixes to remedy most of this nonsense
