It's not a "theory." The numbers all line up and have for years. Only people who have never actually looked into this call it a "theory."
And if for some reason Dak turns out to be an exception, it will be that, an exception. (It's not likely to turn out that way. Either way Dak will be getting 2020 money, not 2019 money.)
And if it is an exception? In that case it will have nothing to do with the Wentz and Goff contracts, which stuck to the pattern.
Except, once there is an exception it sets a precedent.
Then other teams will use it as leverage. I agree that I don’t think it happens because it will cause problems for future players.
