Not exactly sure what to make of the sack % numbers. They have to be misleading in some way, or at least need to be examined in context. For example, from 2017 - 2019 the Rams have gone from 5.0 to 5.6 to 3.7 this year. Anything under 4.0 is usually good for top 5 in the league so for the Rams to be at 3.7, on it's own, is pretty good.

But the o-line has been the source of much consternation so just the sack % must not be very telling.

pressures are up.

Sacks are down.

The qb can account for sacks. Not all sacks are strictly on the OL.

But...increased pressure will have adverse effects on passing.

So that's what you look for.

But I have a complicated view of this because I think the OL will improve. Edwards is a good addition, Allen is still developing, and Blythe has been playing banged up. The thing that will help the most is the 2 OTs playing better than they have. I don't think the OL as a whole will be as good as the first half of the season last year, but I think they will be better than they have been.

Pittsburgh will be a big test as to where they stand at this point. The Steelers are 5th in sacks, 2nd in qb hits, & 4th in sack percentage.
