I voted Cooks because he may actually be forced to retire after consulting doctors.
Heck, if he were my son I would strongly recommend that he retire after an injury settlement.
I voted for Todd Gurley because that's the contract with the strongest argument that it should never have been given.
From a business standpoint, it's probably not wise to give RBs large, early extensions. Of course at the time I was for it - actually more accurately I was somewhat ambivalent. I did know that early extensions for RBs are risky but had no problem with the Rams choosing to go that route.
Now it's come back to bite them. A RB declining quickly is foreseeable. Cooks needing to retire from concussions wasn't so his extension is much more understandable.
Hopefully the Rams benefit from the early extension for Gurley by establishing a rep with players that they take care of their star players. That should help us continue to be a leading destination for players.
