It is no question a risk to start two totally inexperienced OL. But I still think the Rams assumed "well, we have two upper tier OTs and that will cover a lot of warts as they learn and grow." But they haven't- they've both regressed...badly. At least Whitworth is in the upper 40% or so of OTs. Havenstein has always had trouble with really good speed rushers off he edge and multiple Goff fumbles/INTs are based on that. But the thing is he hasn't been good otherwise either.. He's got a lot of penalties too. To me figuring out how to settle those two down is a bigger priority than the young kids. I thought Allen was alright the first 3 games and vs. Seattle and except for playing Chicago and SF again later this year I think he'll hold his own and grow.
I do really want Edwards starting instead of Demby. He's a viable option as a 2020 starter so may as well and he was clearly better than Demby all preseason. And I would even have Corbett as the 6th man vs. Demby... As others have said hopefully his issue in Cleveland has been scheme fit and coaching.
