Don't get me wrong. I thoroughly enjoy watching football, especially the Rams and Notre Dame.
But these leagues are trying too hard to "keep it safe" and make the refs keep track of innumerable rules, and while doing so are obviously playing favorites with some players and some teams. College isn't quite as bad, but it's getting there. I also am tired of the same teams playing at the top of the mountain every year. NE Patriots. Sickening. Everyone knows that story all too well. I am quickly approaching the age when my grandfather died of a heart attack. Of course, I know medicine has made tremendous advancements in the last 50 years, after all I am a doctor, but it's in the back of my mind that I'm only 4 years behind his age when he died. And I do really get worked up watching the Rams. These close games are exciting for most fans but I think the occasional near blow out would help. Not these Rams. Every game is a nail biter. So, I'm reconsidering continuing to watch the sport I love for all of those reasons. I know my family would love it, not because they want to deprive me, but because I know they love me and want to just be with me.
No decisions yet, but I may take a break from the sport for a while just to clear my head and my emotions. Don't know if that means taking a break from this great board, but it might. If you guys (and Mama) don't hear from me for awhile, you'll know why.
