This is an NFL town. Not a Ram or a Charger town. For some reason its only pro-football. Not baseball or basketball. It could be that for the several years before the move to St. Louis the Rams sucked and then in St. Louis the sucked there to-until 1999. During most of that time the Niners were elite and many in So Cal became Niner fans-or for that matter any team that was good.
