If people are saying that the call cost the Rams the win, then they are in essence doing the same thing that Saints fans did. And I have read statements from They lost because GZ missed a 44 yard field goal.
posters claiming that bad officiating was the reason the Rams lost. Lindsey's point is that the Rams had every chance to win the game and she is not wrong.
I call BS on Thiry. Almost every tweet I saw from Rams fans lamented over the missed FG much much more than any call in the game.
Maybe she saw something on ESPN showing the roughing call, and connected it to Rams fans complaining.
Bottom line here is for a reporter who has minimal football knowledge, adding snippy comments criticizing Rams fans just doesn’t work me. Yeah, sure, she’s tolerable, but can’t ESPN do better?
She's far better than you give her credit.
And she says nothing about Rams FANS. That's not in what she wrote. I took that tweet as a response to just a post or 2 that blamed the loss on the bad call. She did not generalize beyond responding to those few people. And in terms of her response to those few, she has a right to do that and she's correct. And in terms of the "controversy" it generated, I see people agreeing with her too.
I didn't see the comment as "snippy" either. IMO this is a tempest in a teapot.
I think you're basically speaking for yourself.
Which is fine, I am too.
But there's no consensus view.
And btw how is Thiry any different from Gonzalez?
Anyway. We're old friends and agree on more than we disagree, and this is a very minor issue. This is just my 2 cents.
....
Rather than get into the penalty thing any further I’ll just say Gonzalez stunk and is gone. Thiry also stinks and should be gone as well.
