There's a lot of criticism of McVay and his play calling yesterday and in some of the games previous. When Goff is making calls at the line is he merely window dressing or really changing the play call? With the way the Oline is playing, his ability to audible out of the play that McVay sends in is critical based on defensive structure pre-snap. Three years into this offense I would expect him to take over the play calls depending on the defensive look... eg Aaron Rodgers.
The days of McVay talking to Goff in the headset up to the line are gone and have been for awhile now.... Goff makes quite a few audibles throughout the game. There is even a espn commercial having fun with all the audible calls with him.
I think the game plan and calls were fine ...560+ yards and 33 points is a fantastic day for any offense, it was the penalties and turnovers that stopped us.... the Bucs have the top rushing defense and one of the worst pass defenses. Take what they give you.
My one complaint would be the 4th down play near the 40 yard line....should have just trusted GZ there and took the points.
