Don't let McVay's self-deprecating style fool you.
No HC is ego-less. And I imagine he's a little tired of being asked what's wrong with the offense.
He is the new offense guru of the league, who has already spawned 2 HCs..... both, of course, from the offense staff.
You can bet he is going to light a fire under that offense.
He wore an uncustomary frown on his face most of the game Sunday night. Goff missing open Receivers and committing turnovers. Receivers dropping the ball. Oline not in synch. You name it. Not a happy man. Even saw him appear (I underline appear) to get a bit testy with Goff towards the end of the game.
But McVay will never, ever, throw any player under the bus despite what he might be thinking.
Bucs have a pretty good D. But it wouldn't surprise me to see the offense function much more like what we have come to expect this Sunday. And depending on what look the Bucs throw out there, it may involve starting the game with some short, quick passes and up tempo.
And, if they play that 6 player front on D, we might see more of Brown who seems to thrive on between the Tackle runs.
