My biggest concerns were (1) a failure to make adjustments to the offense after weaknesses were exposed late last season and (2) the inability of the defense to get stops. I saw a glimmer of hope for the offense when the Rams started making good use of the tight ends against the Seahawks. There remain issues with Gurley's health and the offensive line, but the main concern was that McVay seemed to have run out of ideas. If McVay finds a way to make adjustments, the Rams might be able to field a strong offense, especially if someone rises to the occasion on the offensive line. My other major concern was the CB position. Suddenly, Talib was looking old and done this season. I never liked Peters in terms of his play or his antics. So glad he is gone! The Rams now have a top CB on one side. If anyone can step up to perform at a reasonable level, the CB position will be better than it was at any time during the past few years. Ramsey is a major upgrade relative to Peters and Talib, and they should be able to give some help to the CB on the other side. Another reason I have a glimmer of hope is the sense of urgency the Rams seem to have to take action to deal with the problems. This is the first time this season that I think they could be on the right track.
