Weddle injury

Does anybody else think it was odd that Weddle got a laceration inside of the helmet ? The newly designed helmets ? One thing that I am thinking is that he is wearing headset to hear play calls from the sideline and maybe the sound device caused the laceration. I know he caught a knee to the head but dang.
