The Great
1) First starts for Allen and Noteboom and they were excellent. Kromer is a genius.
Right ? Can't say enough for Kromer, and the guys on this board will acknowledge the guy's ability to school youngsters. Hats off too, to Max for noting Vinny
B's high regard for our left guard.
The Good
6) Higbee making nice meaningful catches in some tight windows.
Have to totally celebrate this play. Goff, to his own discredit locks on to Tyler. This happened all day yesterday. Gurley open, and others, and Goff not surveying the field. I'm quite sure that this will be film reviewed with some concern back at HDQ. But Goff throws an absolute missile, and Higbee swallows that thing. Good stuff, and highly entertaining......
The Bad
12) Wanted McVay to go for it on the 4th and 1 that GZ missed.
I thought they should go, too.
15) No AD blow ups? I know he started slow last year but he had training camp this year ... were they scheming him that well?
Think the note on the heat from UK certainly had to translate to the field. Not an excuse, but as the game wore on all these guys had to be feeling it.
AD was quiet. Coming home ought to help that plenty.
16) Losing Weddle ... hope he can get back sooner rather than later, I hate to not have him against Brees this week.
Yeah, I didn't see any updates. If he flew back with the team it's a good sign.
17) Goff Locked in on the wrong read like 4 times.
It was tough to watch. Don't often find myself irked that the Kid QB doesn't read through progressions, but he failed to see the field well yesterday. Don't think he'll get away with that for too long.
College
18) Just getting started ... I'm focusing on DT and CB mainly with a low key eye on TE and OLT just in case.
That one Stanford CB sure looks good.
Was hoping my prediction that the game would be decided on either having to move the chains or score points wouldn't come true.
But there it is.
Gurley sealling it.
