Any thoughts on what the Rams defensive approach was to stopping McCaffrey?

September 09, 2019 12:38PM
From the very beginning the Rams were mostly lost stopping McCaffrey. From very first drive. I’m going to have to watch again but I just don’t know what they were trying to do? I would not say they were keying on him and bent of taking him away at all. But rather... it was almost like they didn’t think he was good enough to beat them. Very similar to how in the SB I have no idea what they were doing with Edlemen. I would love to hear someone ask McVay that. I will be listening to his show tonight at 9pm est

Any thoughts on this?

Did they not want to reveal a defense designed to focus on McC in an effort not to tip off the far more challenging Saints offense with Kamara and Cooks at TE and Thomas at WR?

I am baffled

Yep. The approach seemed to be: soak yourself in butter and then chase him aroundd
