The point about close games is very important. When attempting to predict records I always look at performance in close games. We were 6-1. That will not continue. Greg will miss a kick, etc. I don't think we will regress too far because the Seahawks are two of those games and I find them outliers because they play a very ball control, shorten the game style and know us so well. So at 4-1, I would expect we lose a couple more.
On the other hand, if we are truly a great team we will counter this by minimizing the number of close games we have. See the 1999 Rams.
I think the defense will improve. But I see the most improvement coming from the offense. My expectation is that our offense improves noticeably this year. We will run less, and spread the field more. Goff and McVay will improve. And our weapons are ridiculous. Time to let Goff air it out. Run Gurley enough to keep teams honest.
I see us winning 12 games if we are lucky with injuries. Wouldnt be surprised with 14, or 10 though.
