Rams continue to slide in offseason power rankings, drop to 11th

While several teams made big moves this offseason, the Los Angeles Rams were not necessarily one of them. They did pick up Eric Weddle, Clay Matthews and Blake Bortles, but those additions are vastly different than the ones they made the year before (Brandin Cooks, Aqib Talib, Marcus Peters).

That doesn’t mean the Rams had a bad offseason, nor does it suggest they aren’t one of the five best teams in the league. Nate Davis of USA TODAY Sports doesn’t view the Rams that way and wasn’t a fan of their offseason moves.

In his latest power rankings, he dropped the Rams all the way down to No. 11, four spots below their previous spot.

Free agency was unkind to them in the trenches, and it remains to be seen if RB Todd Gurley’s knee is going to flare once season starts. Don’t expect another 6-0 run through NFC West, either.
