I watched some Rams games in earlier seasons, but I didn't become a diehard fan until the 1969 season. The Rams started 11-0, and Roman Gabriel was the MVP. They lost a heartbreaker in the playoffs to the Vikings. What a season it was for the Rams! It was also an interesting era with the Beatles, Vietnam, Woodstock, the space program, etc. On this date 50 years ago, I stood in my front yard in Tampa, looked to the east, and watched Apollo 11 launching into space!
