But how do "we" know that? Do any of us really "know" what the condition of Gurley's knee is other than what we "read". The only people who "know" the extent of FAulks injuries and whatever limitations may or may not have been placed on him are Faulk's medical personnel and Faulk himself. Same with Gurley. Other than that its strictly heresay when it comes to writers. -some of which focus on the positive (i.e. Gurley's comments himself) some of which focus on the negative. Moreover, trying to compare one players injury to another is problematic. ? Our bodies are all unique. Some people have a much harder time recovering from an injury where another person with the identical injury won't.
I would also keep in mind that asking a football player -paid to play football-how his injury is progressing is far different than a doctor asking you or me how are we coming along after an injury.
At bottom here is how will our tailback play this coming season.. If he plays well we can "surmise" his arthritic knee was certainly manageable. If he plays sparingly or poor we will likely "surmise" his knee is the reason.
We shall see.
