im not sure why we keep focusing on alcohol as i think we will hear the defense claim that lipitor is the real catalyst. I would suspect that they claim alcohol was more of an accelerator.
in any case, to my knowledge, there is no evidence that the man has ever been in trouble with the law, no history of any type of similar sexual behavior, has not made any previous sexual advances to the woman in question and has expressed remorse for the events when confronted by the phone call described in the story. as such, it seems as though this event is not only bizarre, but also totally out of character with the person accused of the crime. assuming this is all accurate, my question is still why? what would possess a man in his late 30s to early 40s to act so out of character?
nevertheless, assuming everything we have heard is accurate and you dont buy the lipitor defense. what is an appropriate punishment?
