Molkerman: you gotta watch the games, not stats.
Wilson can't throw from pocket every passing play (too short, and can't locate), Goff can. IF you can't throw from the pocket every play, you can't go to the superbowl, unless your D is #1-4....unlike the Rams who were like 19th. Goff dominates from a clean pocket (ya, I know, most do), but Wilson does not...did I say "does not"...yes, yes, I did, and that is because I have watched every Wilson game since 2012 (I think).
That may not be his strength but he still out produces Goff. Give Wilson the same level of support on offense and level the playing circumstances and is it reasonable to think Wilson would produce less? And it's not like Seattle's chopped liver record-wise the last couple of years. It wouldn't take a huge contribution from their defense to see them back in the Super Bowl and that's without a whole lotta names on offense.
Wilson is only 30 and has been consistently producing at a very high, very efficient level without a lot of help. Goff and the Rams are younger and have better players but Wilson's offense doesn't have the question marks that Goff's does right now so I don't think it's an easy thing to say that Goff will be outproducing Wilson the next 5 years.
