I think they would like to replace Jo Jo with a player that can play a position and be in or eventually be in the rotation. But they do trust Jo Jo especially on punt returns so I think it will come down to someone stepping up and showing they can be trusted on PR. If that happens Jo Jo is bye bye.
And I'm not sure presently if the Rams have that guy. Yes, they have many receivers, but Alex Bachman only returned 7 Punts in his career at Wake Forest and Nsimba Webster has only returned 4 punts in his career at Eastern Washington, however, one of those was for a touchdown. Overall, it's not like the Rams brought in a WR or player that had experience returning punts in college.
Now I'm not posting that those two could not unseat Natson, but like you posted, the Rams like and trust Jo Jo Natson and because they have 4 stellar receivers in Cooks, Woods, Kupp & Reynolds, it would be my opinion that Hodge could be in more trouble if any receiver showcases anything. Also IMO if they wanted someone to battle Natson shocked they did not bring back Nick Williams because he did have experience returning punts.
