Time for the news from Pedants R Us.

"Wherefore are thou" doesn't mean where are you, it means for what reason are you. Literally, it means why must you be named Gurley.

No big deal, just thought it might be of interest.

It comes from Romeo and Juliet. Juliet is wishing Romeo were not from the Montague family, which is at war with her family. When she says "wherefore art thou Romeo" she's asking, why do you have to be named THAT, why couldn't you have been from a different family. One not at war with MY family.
