I'm sure there is some "intel" passed along the way...

in fact, if you're not doing it, you are seriously ignoring your duties as a GM.

In fact, my guess is that teams share information...you know..."I'll tell you if you tell me" type of discussions.

We know who teams talk with at the combine...
We know who teams talk with at the "all star" games (Senior and Blue/Gray Bowls)
We know who is visiting whom...
We know who is going to pro days...

That's a lot of intel. Couple that with some inside chatter...a look at opposing rosters...stacking players that may look similar from team to team...

I mean...even the networks will tell you when they expect a run on a certain position.

While not a conspiracy, of course teams find ways to get intel.

I think teams even go as far as looking at other players to throw teams off their guy.

Rumors, conspiracy, bluffing, dare I say lying...there you have the draft!

I don't mean spies in the literal sense...just the flow of the draft...

Someone could make (or is making?) literally millions of dollars with "big data"

EternalHorns341April 28, 2019 01:49PM

exactly, it was pure hyperbole to call them spies for effect....
