Just assume for a second that Gurley deteriorates rapidly and he needs to be shelved. What do the Rams do? Brown was showing good progress, including some receiving game before he got hurt. Kelly never showed anything. With Gurley gone....the Rams are going to need another RB with skills. Henderson gives the downfield threat that the Rams would lose if Gurley went down. Particuarly in the passing game. Watch his highlights....the dude makes excellent downfield adjustments on the ball. Brown, even with his improved receiving talent, can't come close to Hendeson's receiving game.
Once everyone finishes all the stages of grieving on Gurley's potential demise.....they will realize the Rams HAD to make this pick.
