Assuming Snead is the final say, he has to understand needs as expressed by the head coach...yes he has the most influence...but D means Philips may have influenced McVay enough to ensure a need on defense in vital.
If we go off the range...trade up...or do something out of the box...and take another offensive weapon...well...
