That said, here's to future fans talking about Allen with the same reverence as talking about Doug Smith or Rich Saul.
He may or may not be a weak link, but, he was never going to unseat a vet center as a rookie. People look at Sullivan and say, well he got pushed around some games. And he did. But blocking is not all a center does. Sullivan also called the line adjustments for a very successful offense, and arguably that offense would not have been as good if Sullivan were not very good at making those line calls. I think there's no way a rookie would have been able to replace that.
