Re: Jackie Slater

True. Though Slater really was not anywhere near the player he was by age 38 (his last full season as a starter in 1992). He was in and out of the lineup in 1993 and 1994 and played just one token game in 1995. Whitworth is sending all the signals that this is his last go around. I think he is preparing to give it his all and walk away happy and hopefully with a chance at the HOF years later.

I will say I saw Slater in person vs Pittsburgh in 1993 at Anaheim and he totally dominated Kevin Greene all day in his homecoming to LA (27-0 Rams).

Why does everyone assume Whitfield will retire?

Ramadune265April 03, 2019 02:54PM

I think it's because he was undecided in the off-season
